What else, more things

The house moving goes slow still but progress is still being made. I cleaned both the bathroom and the kitchen to where I'm pretty satisfied with them. Cleaning the refridgerator was a pain in the ass. But I don't think it had been cleaned in quite a while. Another floor mopping to both to clean up the crud tracked into the rooms and the place will look almost like new.

The living room is almost cleaned out of my brother's stuff. The big screen TV is still here and a big wooden chair too. The chair is done for though. What's surprising is just how many wires and cords are everywhere. I packed about 15 the other day that were literally connected to nothing - they were just lying on the floor behind pieces of furniture or whatnot.

Another brother will be moving in with me. I rather welcome it. It'll definately helped with the bills as things are tight concerning my budget. I am pretty good at budgetting so I'm ahead in my bills but one fairly major problem (say $800 or more) would put me in some decent jeopardy.

I started on the cover for issue 2 of the Necropolis Chronicles. It's coming out well so far. It's ashot of a snapshot of Jaina being burned while being held in the teeth of a skull. The flames are partially inside the skull making it's eye sockets and nose area lit from within. I was quite picky on the snapshot of Jaina really wanting her pic to come out well. I like what I have so far.

I've detailed the jaw of the skull with a good amount of lines but I think it looks good. However, I had to break for lunch because I'm leaving for work soon. Upon picking up the drawing again I didn't have the same enthusiasm or intensity so I placed it aside and will work on it when I'm not looking over my shoulder at the clock.

I'm back on 2nd shift which means 3pm to 11pm. Considering that work pretty much turned off the heat, it's going to be chilly. During the day it has yet to climb above 60 degrees and there's a thermomiter in almost every room. It's a terrific day so far weather-wise but it's probably going to be cold tonight.

Looks like I'm headed to a 2nd consecutive loss in the fantasy football league. I need at least 3 TDs tonight on Monday Night Football. There's a chance but it's not likely. Anyways, I'm currently 5 - 2 and in second. If I lose, which is likely, I'll be 5-3 and fall to 3rd or 4th or maybe even 5th. If I win, I should retain my 2nd place I believe.

Work calls, gotta go.

Back on-line!

Woo-hoo!

I got my computer up and going having moved into my new house. I purposely left it at the old homestead because I knew the sooner I hooked it up here, the less cleaning and organizing I would do at the new location. So after a week's wait (and much cleaning and organizing), I'm back up and running!

So! What else is new?

Finally got word from Comixpress about printing The Necropolis Chronicles. It's only taken 6 months. That REALLY sucks. After all this time, there's a problem. The book is only 22 pages long meaning there will be 2 blank pages. Not sure how I missed this but it's not an end all problem. One page will be an ad for Comixpress to further drop the costs of printing. The other will be of some designs pic's of Jaina and the crew of the comic. Should be an easy fix.

Saw what looked like either a comic book girl or dominatrix walking down the street the other day. She looked young (20-something) despite her brown hair being in a bun - yuck! All dressed in black on a decent weather day. She had on a thigh length leather trench coat, a flowing black skirt or dress that ended below the knee and tall boots with stiletto heels. I was quite impressed - lol! She dresses just like one of my comic characters! LOL! Anyways, not sure where she was headed except maybe to work. The road she turned down was a dead end of two jobs - a train yard and also a manufacturing company. Maybe she was office help or something. Oh well. But as you can tell, I was impressed with her.

Good karma? Maybe. On the way to work, the town of Westfield has many lane turn-offs and left lane must turn left type of thing. Well, the road structuring is kinda week for the vast amounts of traffic that pour through the town. Anyways, twice now, when my lane is suppose to go straight and the left lane turn left, I've been somewhat cut off by people going straight (and into my lane) despite being in the 'left turn left' lane. And twice, cops have bagged the culprit. Considering this almost never happens anywhere else, I'm not sure if it's karma or just cops being on top of things. Probably the latter since tickets generate income for the town.

Trying to go 6-1 in my fantasy football league this week. I'm currently on a 5 game win streak after losing the opener of the season.

Goofiness now. My new ceiling leaks. The bedroom is still packed full of my brother's stuff so I'm sleeping on the couch in the living room. So it rains like hell last night and the windows in the ceiling start to leak some. So I decide to sllep on the hard wood floor instead of the couch which has had about 10 or so drops of water hit it. During the night, my cat decides to walk past me. I've kinda got the way blocked so he steps on me. On my head no less. When I stir he digs his claws into my flesh and jumps away. So of course, I instantly feel blood start dropping from just above my eye. A quick run to the bathroom coupled with some swearing and I'm patching things up. Just a nick, maybe a slash a cenimeter long but I bleed about a half-teaspoon or more before I got it to stop. Got blood on my sink area to as I tried to wash off my hands and the water splattered. It looked like a mini-crime scene or something as blood had splattered here and there on my mirror and wall.

Oh well, I'm off to have some fun on my day of leisure.

Moving Day (or all weekend really)

So! This past Friday I signed my life away and became a first time home owner. Spent a chunk of the Friday and today (Saturday) moving. I bought my brother's house and it's kinda nice for a small family/1 child tops. Obviously I like it because I bought it.

The move is going a little slow. Downpours so bad that roads are being washed out aren't helping. My brother being totally unprepared for the move isn't helping either. So the total move is probably going to take over a full week or more. I'm a little irked about it because he did have plenty of time to organize and box things. I'll probably end up doing the most of it mainly so I can get going living in what is now my house. It's not quite as bad as I'm making it sound because I'm just anxious to get going and get the place cleaned.

Another brother might be moving in with me later on because he's selling his house to. I kinda welcome this because it'll help me pay the mortgage and I'll enjoy the company. Living alone after having my family around ALL the time is going to be a big change.

All in all, it IS exciting and a big change but also a little scary with all the bills that are going to be coming my way now. I'm glad my hobbies (except for on-line gaming) are quite cheap.

That's all for now.

As usual, more 'things'

Not a bad weekend with the Columbus Day holiday thrown in.

Put the smackdown and got smackdown on/by my friends during Heroclix at the comic store Friday & Saturday. I make a lot of goofy sounding teams just to get laughs. My two most recent teams are 'The Pimp and Ho' team and 'The 15 Will Get You 20' team. If you don't play the game, it uses heroes from Marvel and DC comics and you play against an opponent or two. It can be a lot of fun be we have a couple of folk that seem to just argue about the rules. So some guys I like to play, others I just sigh and hope for the best.

Did the inks on two pages for issue 3 of The Necropolis Chronicles. I like to think that they look pretty good overall and I'm usually a fairly harsh self-critic.

Today was spent mostly packing stuff for the move to the new house. Got about half my stuff packed. I'm running low on boxes already. Because of my D&D collection, I've got a TON of books. I'm going to recycle any doubles since I really don't play anymore and with all the rules changes most of the books aren't worth anything anyways.

My oldest brother must be quite upset at my troublemaking niece. He wrote her out of his will. At this time, if he suddenly passed (he's only 40-something) she would have gotten $200,000. That's what happens though, when she says shit to her father (our brother) like 'I never want to see you again' when he's done absolutely nothing wrong to her. It's kinda sad because she really is brainwashed by her mother - the same 'mother' that has written off her first child (no relation to us), pretty much her 3rd child (my nephew), her own blood relatives and her in-laws (us). Apparently her latest monthly sex partner is a woman. I guess since the divorce word from other people that are not family is that she's trying hard to have a lesbian relationship or at least is going 'bi'. The goofy thing is, she has convinced my niece that all of these people (at least 6 since the divorce) are just 'friends' but if my brother has ONE relationship he's this piece of pathetic trash and what-not.

And apparently the kids are under orders from their 'mother' not to talk to numerous people. Included on this list are my family and several counselors at the local boys -n- girls club and therapists. Fortunately my young nephew is too young to fully fall for this and starts talking if we engage him in conversation. It's the same with the counselors at the boys and girls club too.

If my fantasy football team has an average night tonight on Monday Night Football (4 players on my team play tonight) I should be able to beat my opponent that's playing against me and is currently ahead of me in points for this week. If I win my team will be 4-1 and should retain my #1 position in the rankings.

Later!

Things: Both good and bad

The good:

Mom's back home and recouperating nicely. She needs help with some things after being bedridden for well over a week. Can't do stairs and can't lift anything heavy for at least a week. So this news overwhelms the bad news by a HUGE margin.

Pretty much everything is set for the closing on my house. The date for the closing is Oct 14.

The bad:

Not a lot of free time these days. Pretty much just an hour before work and an hour or two after work. I'm on 2nd shift until next week so the hours after work are from 11:45pm to roughly 1:30 am. So it makes it hard to get anything meaningful done.

The situation with my niece continues to get worse and worse. As suspected, her mother told my niece to call the police on my brother and she did resulting in two cruisers coming to the house. The cops left with nothing happening to my brother although my nephew was really shook up and kept asking the police if they were going to take his daddy away.

Today, my brother has a court hearing along with the ex to discuss the situation. Considering her attorney has failed to make the last two appointments to appear in court it wouldn't surprise me if today is another wasted day for my brother. He is trying to tell his ex to take my niece full-time and he'll take my nephew full-time. My niece wants to be with her mother full-time. It's the biggest mistake she'll ever make. She already watches my nephew when her 'mother' leaves to go out. My already does the laundry andwho knows what else. She doesn't realize that she is NOT the most important thing in her mother's life. She might soon though. My niece is going to lose her whole family to be with her 'mother'. And I hate to say it, but at this time, we really won't miss my niece. At all. She's just that much of a fucking asshole right now. And considering she doesn't have my money to steal anymore - or my mother's money - she'll probably start stealing from businesses and end up in a lot of trouble. If she steals from her 'mother' the 'mother' will probably just slap her around. Or worse, just ignore my niece.

Despite all this, things should actually look up for my brother. He'll be graduating college (night school really) in January which should mean an increase in pay at his job. He won't have the heavy weight of his own daughter trying to sabotage everything he does under orders from her 'mother' , he won't have to worry about having his daughter cause trouble for the whole family by finding her a place to sleep on his nights and her suckless attitude of 'I can do anything I want because my mom will get her attorney' and he can get on with living at least a little bit better.

That's all for now. It may not sound like it, but positivity is actually in the air.

Things HAVE changed!

And for the better!

My mom is doing GREAT! She's off the ventilator and out of the intensive care unit. She's sitting up and able to speak. Although still weak and still on an all liquid diet, she actually looked like a person instead of just a patient! It'll still be a number of days before she comes home but it's just totally great news on that front.
