What else? The Weekend.

Blog 092507

The weekend wasn’t half bad.

Saturday I got home and slept for about 4 or maybe even 5 hours. Got up and headed to my friend’s for D&D. We hadn’t played for some time. Or at least, I hadn’t. I don’t think I’ve played since March.

Another friend came down that we hadn’t seen for quite awhile. I hadn’t heard from a couple of friends for awhile so I sent out some ‘hello, how are you?’ style e-mails. So part of that e-mailing led to a get together.

D&D was decent. I was a little tired but still had fun. My character did well overall.

I can’t recall Saturday night. I’m pretty sure I played Call of Duty 2 on-line until bed.

Sunday I ran around a bit before football. I headed to Enfield, CT to buy more Marvel figurines. I picked up Spider-Man and Blade. Blade does nothing for me as a character but his figurine looks awesome and is one of my favorites. Spider-Man looks okay but the shop owner said he couldn’t get him anymore so I bought Spidey. Unfortunately, any time the shop owner says the figure is sold out he jacks up the price by $8 immediately. So Spidey cost me $20 which rather sucked but he only had 2 of them left. He has a number of other figures that are $20 and sold out. One I have on order from my local store so I don’t know if I’ll ever see that figure.

I got stuck on the way home in Big E traffic. I eventually got where I was going despite driving about 10 mph on the highway for quite awhile.

I did some shopping and hurried home to catch the rest of the Patriots game. I missed about the first quarter.

I watched football most of the rest of the day and caught a wonderful turkey dinner at my parents’ place. I had to wait through an anxious Monday Night Football but both my fantasy football teams won and both now stand at 2 wins and 1 loss. I finished 8-5-1 for the week in baseball in the fight for 3rd and 4th place. I didn’t realize it but I guess we play for 2 weeks just like the battle for 1st and 2nd place.

I watched the first part of Ken Burn’s World War 2 documentary. It’s a little slow and I kept falling asleep because I was exhausted but it was decent overall.

Monday I didn’t sleep much and headed to my parents place early in the day. One of my brothers and I went to the Big E. It’s a big farming fair that’s the 6th largest in the country. It has all sorts of stuff there like rides, animal shows and lots and lots of food. I had clam fritters, a soft serve, part of a pretzel, part of a fried dough, two slushes, New York style pizza and I bought cotton candy for home along with a maple sugar candy. I had a decent time there but it is pretty much the same thing every year. I also bought a small amount of beef jerky and some Boston Red Sox socks that I’m wearing as I write this. Greg bought a radio controlled helicopter.

We left after about 5 hours. I got home and slept for about 5 hours before work.

More shitty news at work. Now the paint room on 3rd shift and packing on second shift are being laid off. I’m hearing it’s anywhere from 4 to 8 weeks. That leaves just my old room and my current room as people that work third shift at the plant. Not sure how I’ll be affected. I could lose my job through bumping. We’ll see. Some times I worry about it but for the most part I try not to.

When I got up I found out I had a dentist appointment the next day. I knew it was coming soon but I didn’t know when because I lost my card from 6 months earlier.

I went to the dental cleaning and got it done. I was fairly tired. They found a new cavity and scheduled for a filling. They also gave me, at a cost, a mouth rinse to help protect my teeth. I had over paid them earlier because of a claim foul-up so I didn’t have to pay anything this time. Despite brushing every day, usually twice a day 95% of the time I never get good news from the dentist. At best I had a few trips where I got a ‘see you in 6 months’ deal, that’s it.

I had a dream today where I was attacked by a large bear. I called my dad for help. The old family dog was hooked up at his post but to old to do anything and the bear ignored him for me. We had the bear running between us before another brother came out. He had these poles with knock out needles on them. We grabbed them and started stabbing the bear. It finally fell unconscious but it was also really injured from the number of times we stabbed it. At one point I was trying to kill it with my large needled pole. The bear was able to claw me a couple of times drawing blood.

At the Big E we had seen a number of live, large bears on display.

Long post: dreams, fantasy sports and lay-off's

Blog 091507

I had two weird dreams the past couple of days.

One started off with me working in a pizzeria. I was like a table boy or something low on the ladder. I knew the place was mob owned but I still worked like hell to be noticed. I believe I was noticed for my hard work and then got weak in the knees and opted out when there was a chance to join the mob. The boss was James Cann (I think that’ him), the actor that played Sonny in the Godfather.

I then sort of became the director. Al Pacino came in as a new guy everybody liked. He was good at being a businessman too. James Cann apologized to his buddies at his booth because of the violent future he was going to involve Pacino in. Cann was going to get Pacino to join the mob because he saw him as a successor to himself.

I ended u leaving or something because the dream changed.

The grounds were now The Wilbraham-Monson Academy from my home town. The landscape was slightly altered mainly being all flat. Fields had low stonewalls around them maybe a foot high. Trees surrounded these fields carefully constructed to make a thick green wall around the fields which were about the size of football fields. It reminded me a lot of an upper crust English mansion or something.

There was a wedding going on. Who was in it kept changing. At one point it was my oldest brother getting married and my mom was in the wedding. Then my brother was just an usher. Then it got a little weird. It was a really rich wedding where everyone in the bridal party was riding around in horse drawn carriages/stagecoaches. My brother was in a fairly regal tux of black with gray vest. He was also wearing a Cat in the Hat hat. The kind of hat that is really tall and red and white striped. All the other ushers had on some sort of head gear that was Disney or Dr. Suess related.

I was walking around the gothic church and passed the open front door seeing the bride. She was a pretty cute blond of average build. But she was ultra-rich. She ran across the street behind me as I passed with some maidens and her wedding organizer. The organizer, maybe her mother, was a tall, slender old woman.

I circled around the church walking through the fields I mentioned earlier. Strangely, snakes were all over. There were about 4 or 5 varieties starting with the common garter snake. They were everywhere. And they were eating each other up in a second. One would slither at my feet, run into another, swallow, move on and get swallowed itself by another snake. All in about the time it takes to read that sentence. Along the grass was flat stones making a somewhat smooth walkway but a lot of twigs had fallen on the stones making them something of a fall strewn walkway.

I walked into the church because before the wedding all the guests had to pay homage to the bride’s dead father. He was entombed there. I can’t recall if his casket was on display. I think it was just a sort of gravemarker inscription on the floor and he was buried underneath the very stone floor we were walking on inside the church. Her father was a rich television tycoon with a lot of kids. I cannot recall if I knew the following from the dream or expanded upon it upon awaking but he had a number of grown children with the bride being the youngest and sort of an ‘oops’ from an affair with a younger woman. The wife of the dead father hated the bride because the girl wasn’t blood although the bride was a half-sister to the three or four original kids. The bride, in her early twenties, was ten to fifteen years younger than all the other kids of her father.

I don’t recall how that dream ended, I probably woke up.

The other dream I had this morning after 5 or fewer hours of sleep.

I was living at my parents’ house and it was early in the morning like around 5 am. It was still pretty darn dark out and my brother M spotted a light on our property. He could see it from the alcove window. It was American army troops doing some sort of maneuver where the car wide trail that leads up to the backfield starts. There were two jeeps and maybe 5 people per jeep or so. They were handling something that looked like a stretcher and there was a body strapped in. It seemed like a block of ice was around the body and it was covered by a standard looking army blanket. The blanket had slipped off around the head and shoulder region and we could see the ice and blurred body inside. There was also a name in Army lettering on the ice or something.

I eventually walked around the house seeing the soldiers and then other soldiers doing maneuvers around our house in the dark and in the woods. I eventually went outside to try and get a better look. For whatever reason it was suppose to be top secret that these bodies were being moved around. It was training for the soldiers. In the dream it made sense as if they needed such training but now as I write this it doesn’t. I walked along the road and found a co-worker Kim helping the soldiers by clearing away shrubbery near the road. The soldiers were still several ten of yards off and hard to see in the dark since they only had bright headlights or a single portable light like a handheld spotlight.

Kim is Vietnamese and her Enlgish is poor and she has a strange sounding voice so I couldn’t really understand her. Some guy, maybe an Army official came up the road and sort of waved me off with some warnings about being in the area. I walked home still checking out the soldiers.

It was daylight that quick as I reached the front of the house which is like a 30 second walk up the road from where I was. As I was just inside my parents’ house I had to go back outside because three people were there to see me. It was two women, somewhat homely and mannish despite long hair and a guy. They were there to intimidate me into remaining quiet. The only thing intimidating about these three ya-hoo’s was that they were the first line of what was to become more serious visits from way more serious people. I got into an argument with these jokers and waved them off. It was later that I somehow learned that there were more dead soldiers being transported around the country. And the more they were transported the more the dead soldiers were promoted! Yes, dead soldiers were promoted for being moved from place to place. I think and old high school person, Pat Greany, dressed in an Army uniform showed up after the three ya-hoo’s left. He told me about the soldiers and the other coming intimidators. I was very defiant and readied to tell the general populous. The rest is sort of a blur and I can’t recall what happened.

Additional stuff added 091907

Had some other weird dreams during the week. Most I can’t recall now which sucks. Parts of another had me owning a house in a wooded area. My house was probably several hundred yards off the road and there was only say a bike trail from the road to my house.

The house was kind of cool. It was all one floor but it was really long and somewhat wide. It had a lot of extra rooms and some where really cool like a sun room in the middle of everything and also a courtyard. The courtyard was full of large flower bushes as tall as me. There was a game room that had Playstation and also a pool table. There were a number of virtually empty rooms and apparently I had recently moved in. The house was large enough to have a number of rooms dedicated to one thing such as train set room or game room. My brother and his young son where living with me. The layout of the house was nothing like my real one. I prefer the house in the dream.

At one point one of my other brothers and I and some guy where in my front yard. My yard was essentially woods. The trees were tall enough and leafy enough to cover most of the sky so only patches of sky could be seen. It was a bright, sunny day. Out of no where comes this bulldozer plowing a bunch of areas. This thing was like a four wheeling truck and was plowing large areas as fast as I can write the sentence. We all had to leap and run out of the way because the guy was a very reckless driver. He plowed the bike path area into a dirt road and then did sort of a horseshoe type path that ended at a facility/garage that held the town’s school buses and trucks.

The guy told us that he did that path so that my nephew could just come to the facility to get a ride to school by being the first kid on the bus. It was a much shorter walk than going all the way to the road. The trees were thick enough and leafy enough that I never knew there was a large, one story garage maybe a football field’s length away from my house.

Of course, with most of my dreams, I’ve forgotten a ton of detail which really sucks.

More lay-off’s at work. Last night we were asked if we wanted voluntary lay-off’s. The same night pretty much 3rd shift was eliminated from Plant B. Plant B makes all the cores of the golf used by every other department. Tonight we learned almost all of third shift which is anywhere from 13 to 20 people from another department were notified tonight about being laid off. If not enough people volunteer for my room’s lay off it’ll be mandatory. We just had lay-off’s in my room two weeks ago. Add to the equation that seniors laid off can bump into my room and my job is certainly not safe.

Another crazy bit of this is that 15 new jobs were posted for bidding just last week. I bid on all three shifts. I have no idea how those jobs will affect the lay-off’s or what’ll happen. So by next week, I may be unemployed. Joy (sarcasm).

One cool bit on news is that my display case arrived last Monday. I love it. It has 4 shelves and a mirrored inside and the mahogany wood looks terrific. My three and a half inch Marvel figurines look great in the case. Now I just need a few more because it’s a little sparse at the moment.

On the figurine front, it’s been a slow two weeks of getting the figures in. Out of the 8 I’ve ordered, all of which I can get at the original store that I first bought them at, 2 have come in. I’m getting ancy and may end up buying a few more from the original store instead of my buddy’s place. I will buy what he ordered for me though.

The only problem with the display case is that its finish is very unforgiving. I made the mistake of cutting the tape holding the door closed and other packing materials with a pair of scissors. I put an over inch long gash twice on the same side. Ouch. I also scraped the top and bottom of the case merely by sliding the case around in a clockwork motion on my parents’ wooden dining room table. The only good thing is that all the gouges and scratches are hard to see and not very easily noticeable. Still, it really sucked.

I made a minor profit at Foxwoods Casino the other night. It was a bus trip. I brought about $115 or maybe $120 and came home with $135. I won zero on Keno which sucked. I usually make a small profit on Keno. I won my first three hands of Carribean Stud poker which was a nice start. I put all my winnings into my pocket and only played with the original $90 I brought to gamble with. Ante was $10 and $20 to bet against the dealer. So each full hand cost $30 to play. I think I only played maybe 20 minutes before all my money was gone. I didn’t spend my winnings.

In fantasy baseball I won the wild card week and advanced to the second round of play-off’s. The winners play in the World Series. The regular season first and second place winners won and are facing off in the series. I lost so I’m playing in the round to see who finishes third and fourth. Third gets a small bronze trophy in their Yahoo profile but 4th gets nothing. Either is a good placing for me since my team finished in sixth with a losing record during the regular season.

In fantasy football I’m 1-1 in each league. In one league I won by 2 points and in another I lost by .32. Ugh!

Good weekend for me and other news

Blog 091007

Lots of weekend stuff this time around.

Work was pretty easy this past week especially with it being just a 4 day week because of Labor Day. I also got to do the job I like almost the whole week.

A friend and former co-worker of mine wants to investigate my parents’ house. He’s into the paranormal and I’ve mentioned my parents’ house several times over. My parents said yes and they mentioned my sister’s place too. She also said yes. So now it’s up to my buddy to set up some potential dates to make it all happen. He’ll be bringing along some friends from TAPS. Those are the guys that do Ghosthunters on Sci-Fi network.

Because of my buddy Ryan asking about investigating I ended up bringing it up at work. I located the rough draft of my little book of stories on my parents’ house and brought them to work. It was an even ratio of people interested. Some scoffed at the notion of ghosts, some didn’t really want to delve into it preferring ignorance and some liked the stories.

I took a chance and loaned the rough draft to one of my co-workers. She’s a good kid but unreliable. She’s being suspended for three days for lousy attendance. She’s kind of ironic to give some one days off because they take too many days off. Since I’m taking this coming Friday off if she doesn’t return the book tonight I won’t see her for over a week. I’d hate to lose the draft because it’s the only copy I have that I know exactly where it is. I should have a master copy but it’s buried in unopened boxes somewhere. I still haven’t opened a number of my moving boxes because with my brother moved in I lost all my extra room. I still have a pile of boxes under my kitchen table and in a kitchen corner because I have no where else for them to fit in the house.

Saturday started off as usual. I got home from work and played some Call of Duty 2 on-line until I went to bed. I slept for a couple of hours and called my buddy at the comic store. He was alone there and mentioned he might close early. I headed down to the store in CT to get some more of those Marvel statues I’ve recently started to collect. I picked up The Black Panther who’s my favorite statue so far. I also bought Loki who looks surprisingly good for a guy dressed in bright yellow and green. And I also bought Iron Man. I was going to wait on Iron Man because he looks good overall but is not my favorite. The store owner jacked up him up to $20 and wrote ‘sold out’ on him. Apparently he can’t get any more of that particular Iron Man. At least, that’s what he told me. I wasn’t happy paying $20 when the others where $13.99 but I did pay it. I didn’t want to come back and find out his stash of Iron Man really is sold out. In the end, I was quite happy with my purchases.

I stopped at my buddy’s comic shop and hung out there for awhile. I showed him my new purchases and together I ordered about 8 statues through him. The plan is to display them until I buy them since I can’t just buy over $100 of statues in one shot. Well, I could but I don’t feel like dipping into my savings. With the statues being on display it could generate interest from other customers. Even though I ordered about 8 statues I want even more than that. Still, I didn’t want to go overboard in over committing myself.

I dug through my spending cash and gathered up all my extra cash I had lying around. My buddy and I were looking up display cases and we found one for about $105 including shipping and handling that looks fairly decent. I ordered it up last night. It could be here as soon as Friday. I put it on my charge card through PayPal. Today I’ll be depositing the money to pay off that purchase as soon as I get my new credit card bill. I hate bills. It’ll be nice to have my statues in a display case instead of just sitting precariously on the top shelf of my bedroom bookcase. I need something to protect them in because my cat climbs on everything and every surface and has knocked down a lot of stuff some it very valuable to me.

I have a love/hate relationship with my cat. It’s a fun cat but at the same time I really it hate. It’s done some expensive damage to my place because it has to climb on everything. I’ve considered giving it away several times now. Its latest thing is to climb all over my soda cans that I keep on top of a small counter top. These cans are usually in the ‘fridge mate’ cardboard cases that range from being full to almost empty. She starts slipping and sliding around and knocks them down rupturing the cans and ruining the soda.

Her other thing is to wall across the decorative exposed beams in my house that are seven feet high. It leaps from beam to beam which are about three and a half feet apart and there are 4 of them. I’m waiting for the cat to miss and be seriously injured by the fall and break a limb. It often is so high up it starts crying when it wants to come down. The cat is not smart.

Sunday was the bulk of opening day for NFL football. My favorite team, The New England Patriots, should do well and make the play-off’s. They have a very good shot at making a serious run at the SuperBowl. They did a pretty good number on a division rival and scored an important first victory. It’s an important victory because the team they beat should be the only one that challenges them for the division crown and gives the Patriots an early edge up by having a tie-breaker and division win. Next up are the tough San Diego Charges who finished with the best regular season record last year. They’ll be looking for revenge since the Patriots bounced them out of the play-off’s last year.

In my fantasy leagues I’m all over the charts. In my ‘pick ‘em’ league I’ve picked 12 games correctly and 2 incorrectly so far. The last 2 games of the week play later tonight.

In the fantasy league I really want to win I’m 3 points behind my opponent. I have my kicker going tonight and he has a defensive player going. It’ll be real close. I was hurt my having one of my players pulled out of a game and I had no back-up. It’s ugly seeing a 0.00 posted next to a guy’s name if it’s your’s.

In my second league I’m going to lose. My QB stunk up the joint scoring 5 points while he was projected to score over 15. While I’m ahead by 2 points my opponent has his QB and top receiver going AND someone else. So that’ll be a loss.

In my baseball league my team did a complete reversal of fortunes. After going 1-12-1 to back into the play-off’s I finished 10-3-1 to boot my opponent from the play-off’s. He must be kind of pissed. His team finished the regular season with almost 30 wins more than mine. My team was 133 wins, 157 loses, 18 ties. My opponent finished in fourth with a record of 169 wins, 118 loses and 21 ties. Now I face the team that placed first in the regular season. He went 179-102-27. Hey, anything can happen!

So for a chunk of Sunday I was watching football for many upon many hours and checking scores for my fantasy leagues.

I did go to my parents place for Sunday dinner. We had dough boys and peach cobbler. Dough boys are nothing more than bits of bread dough allowed to rise and then deep fried. With some syrup they taste awesome. It’s more commonly know as fried dough but I prefer the way my mom cooks it to all others. They are so heavy though that 9 pieces filled me up. Actually, that’s quite a few. I couldn’t eat any peach cobbler since my tank was full. I did scarf down some watermelon though.

I was sent home with much food though. I got a popcorn ball (first of the season), probably half of the peach cobbler, and I think something else that I’m forgetting. My brother also had purchased some big ass baskets of apples and peaches that were shared with the parents so there was a big supply of new foods at my house.

I watched more football and then perused over about 500 pictures from Dragon Con on the internet before heading off to bed. The pictures from Dragon Con, the best sci-fi, fantasy, you name it convention in the country were pretty slick and inspired a new character or two from the ever grinding gears in my head. I think my favorite costumed girl this year is of all things a Dark Phoenix. For a simply red and gold spandex combined with gold thigh high boots it’s really caught my eye. There were several Phoenixes at the con but this particular girl caught my eye the most and she’s not even gorgeous. LOL! Decent looking but the other Phoenixes were actually cuter in the face. There was a great Freak car there too that looked awesome. And there are still something like 500+ more photos that I haven’t looked at yet. Gotta say, digital cameras and Flickr are the shit!

I feel bad for my brother. Seems the ex has no problem with letting a six year old boy walk the streets unsupervised. His 12 year old sister is suppose to meet him and walk him home from baby-sitting but she’s already been late twice doing it which has caused him to start walking to his mother’s alone. Nice. But ex says older sister is reliable enough to continue this. So apparently while talking to the ex about this situation last night the ex refusing to change things and apparently starts ripping into my brother. And once again, she brings up something that I totally do not believe happened at all. She continues to claim that my brother had sex with a former girlfriend in front of my niece and nephew and her 3 kids. WTF?! First off, I don’t believe this incident ever happened. Second, the story probably came from my niece who was actively and under the guidance of her mother trying to make my brother lose custody of her. Third, that same niece is a notoriously liar and of dubious character exactly like her mother and actually trained by her mother to be an underhanded lying cur. Even psychologists dealing with my niece say she’s been coached on what to say and what not to say during visits. So all of this pretty much boils down to my brother’s ex being a piece of shit of a human being doing everything she can to control the situation and inflict pain on others. Of course, we are talking about a woman (?) that wants to have my older niece arrested for giving the trouble-making niece a ride to the mall to see a movie per request for which trouble niece then sneaks off to spend the night at a boy’s house in another town some 20 minutes drive away.

On another note my nephew seems to have a troubled history of being abusive to other people, both kids and adults resulting in being kicked out of day camps and Boys & Girls Clubs. Hmmn, could it be the fact that his ‘mother’ lets her 12 year old daughter raise him? Naaaaahh, it couldn’t be that!

Crazy ass wild dream

090407 dream

I don’t recall everything in this dream. I also don’t recall the full start of it.

I was at my high school and entered it. Its guts were that of my middle school but altered. In order to make its budget at least half the school, maybe more, was a store selling things related or imprinted with the school’s logo. Even things like the girl’s soccer team had a whole section devoted to them for selling stuff. And it was set up like boutique store and even a department store. I couldn’t believe it.

I walked out and I was on the Tinkham Road side entrance to the high school. It was quite a change. It was really a rich school. There was even a large corral and many horses with an accompanying barn to train students how to ride. Everyone seemed clean cut and kind of preppy with lots of white and/or bright colored clothes. People were milling about everywhere and I got the feeling that they didn’t really like me there. I guess I wasn’t high enough class for them.

As I was walking towards the Main Street entrance I looked back to see a rival school and its touring bus parked a ways away. They were the Trojans, no specific town that I recognized. The bus was parked facing the street about half way up the long driveway. Trojans were walking around and all forms of athletic teams were there from football to archery. It seems when a school faces one another all teams play each other rather than at different parts of the school year.

I was stunned to see a Trojan student with a spear. Then the student tossed it almost point blank into a person affiliated with my school. The archery team then ran over to my school’s archery team and killed them all with arrow fire. Then all hell broke loose. The Trojans where like a million man army with people seemingly arriving out of thin air. They were like a wave of humanity killing everything before them. The people in my school panicked and fled and the Trojans kept attacking like a human tsunami. I was scared shitless and took off. I was running to my parents’ house. The Trojans kept following killing everyone in sight. A wave of Wilbraham people was behind me trying to flee but they just kept getting slaughtered.

Just past Glendale Road I found a white Ford Mustang. It had a sky blue stripe along the sides that crossed over the trunk of the car. It had a rear spoiler too. I think the car was from around 2001 or so. It had the cool redesign just before the great 60s influenced redesign of the past couple of year. Every action scene was very much like an action horror movie where the protagonist is chased around.

I hopped in and could tell the car was fast and powerful. I gunned the engine and blasted back over the hill and straight towards the sea of Trojan humanity. They were like a crowd of hungry angry zombies and showed no fear. I ran through them with no remorse. I don’t know how many I killed but the mob didn’t care. They kept pounding on my car with their fists as I was completely surrounded. I was worried about getting stuck on dead bodies seeing that I had to pass two big buses that were disabled on the side of Mountain Road by around Bartlett Ave. The first bus had it’s back tire off and it was jacked up off the ground. I retreated the car back to Glendale and turned around. I blasted back down at the huge crowd and once again slammed into a mass of bodies. A wave of more buses approaching me blocked my path. I may have woken up or something but next I knew I was out of my car fleeing behind the initial wave of murderous Trojans. There were still Trojans roaming around but I was able to dodge, weave and hide amongst bushes alluding them.

Fleeing through the suburbs I knew the Trojans had spread across the country or would with little to no resistance. I didn’t know what to do as I keep moving but I suddenly stopped almost running headlong into Martians. Essentially, these were the guys from War of the Worlds. They were the tripod killing machine from the classic novel. The difference was that these machines had sort of a dog-like frothing structure for scary effect. The metal was blackish with red highlights. The structures had open mouths with bared teeth. I wasn’t sure that these guys (three of them at the time) could win and the mobs of Trojan humanity proved me right. Fighting at the feet of the tall tripods the humans were able to pulled down the tripods and beat them with sticks, clubs and fists! But the tripods did kill or could kill a lot of them. I’m pretty sure I got the hell out of there.

Seeing that the tripods probably couldn’t defeat the Trojans, at least not easily, I stumbled across tiny people. These guys were like all black army men kids toys. They may have been taller like maybe a foot in height but I can’t recall. I knew that these little guys would join the fight as a third force most likely fighting the Trojans which were the strongest force with their massive mob.

I think I woke up because I don’t recall much after that.

I do know later on I was at my buddy’s comic store. I had never been to this particular store and it was essentially two large rooms filled with comics and comics related stuff. Everything was wood from the wall shelves to other displays. It felt like an older building maybe from the 1950’s or earlier. Most of the place was a neutral gray in color. My buddy needed help painting so I decided to help him. I crawled up onto a shelf top so I could paint a hard to get corner and the ceiling. I rather sucked at painting doing a bad job of painting a nice straight edge and painting over areas that my buddy didn’t want white. A friend of mine showed up and offered the help or was recruited to help. I think I screwed up a few more times and some menial stuff happened but I can’t really recall it clearly.

Pretty much the dream ended there. A lot of the dreams incorporated stuff I’ve been thinking about or dealing with recently. I was a bit sloppy at work last night dropping golf balls often. I had to paint some the previous week. My co-worker was talking about pigmy humans last night. I might be going to my high school this weekend to get rid of hazardous waste. I may try to turn this dream into some sort of comic story.

Labor Day weekend and disgusting habits

Labor Day weekend.

This weekend had it’s up’s and down’s.

Saturday morning after work I went and bought two pies using my $75 gift card I won at work. I then brought those and the card to my parents’ house. I gave them the remainder of the gift card which was just under $60. The apple pie I bought I love and is a proven winner. The chocolate cream pie wasn’t so great and I won’t be buying another one. Plain old chocolate pudding and whipped cream makes for a better pie than what I bought.

I went home, caught some zzz’s and then went to my parents for supper. Played some cribbage with my buddy at the comic store and went home after some movie plans fell through with other friends. I kicked some ass on Call of Duty 2 and drew up Yankee Doodle Darling and scanned her in to color her. I made a mistake. I had gotten hungry around 10pm and ate part of a turkey/bacon wrap I hadn’t finished on Friday night. At 11pm I made a cherry flavored Kool-Aid slush against my better judgment. I had so much energy I couldn’t get to sleep. I knew I probably wouldn’t be able to sleep even though I went to bed sometime after 2am. It didn’t help that my neighbor’s brother was partying at his house. From 2am to just about 3am a group of dudes sat in their driveway bullshitting. They weren’t terribly loud but just the acoustics of my yard carried their voices right to my bedroom. I could almost hear every word they said right through my closed windows. One guy in particular seemed to have a loud talking voice. It was bothersome but more because of the environment as opposed to being loud and drunk. The only time I really wanted to call the cops was when they were leaving. Someone had a fairly loud motorcycle and sat on the thing for around 5 minutes at 3am occasionally revving the engine. Then another dude hopped in his truck and did the same thing. That was highly annoying and totally inconsiderate of them. My neighbor and his wife are good neighbors and quite smart. His brother is a decent guy but I don’t think he’ll amount to much professionally at least. I’m not sure of his age but he seems cut out of the Wayne’s World mode. I finally fell asleep somewhere around 5am.

Sunday I woke up a couple of times before finally falling out of bed shortly after noon. I had a fantasy football draft at 1pm so I showered and ate breakfast and then it was about time to draft. I was in a bit of trouble as I found I couldn’t enter the live draft. I love drafting so I was really upset and apprehensive about getting into the draft. After some panicked phone calls and a failed attempt at downloading java I was able to successfully download it and get it running in order to draft. I made it without maybe 5 minutes to spare before the start of the draft. I went with a number of new players this time around so I don’t really have a connection or bond to my team yet. It could be a sweet team and I don’t think it’ll suck. We’ll see what happens.

I think I did some more drawing before I had another draft at 8:15pm. I tried to draft many of the same players because I hate rooting against myself if I have a ton of different guys for my teams. I only like to do two team leagues because otherwise it becomes too much to handle. Some guys do 5 or 6 leagues a year. I did join a third league which is a ‘pick ‘em’ league. You just pick what team you think will beat what team and the finally tally off all the picks at the end of the year determines the winner.

Monday I got up around noon again. I couldn’t help it. Even 8 or more hours of sleep didn’t seem to refresh me. I was happy to see my fantasy baseball team made the final play-off spot despite a disastrous 1-12-1 final week. I’m still upset my team did so horribly the final week but happy I made the play-off’s by about an inch. I switched around my roster including benching last year’s Most Valuable Player for the Amercian League. So far it had paid off in only one day of playing as his replacement hit a 2 run home-run in his first night.

After doing something Monday afternoon including burning a music CD I went to my parents’ place for supper. It was a bigger crowd than expected which was nice. I thought there would about 4 or 5 of us but there ended up being about 8 or 9. Only my sister and her husband were missing and they were on the road returning from the beach. Food was great. King Crab legs didn’t do much for me and it tasted a lot like lobster. I just don’t care for seafood. I haven’t found any that I’ve really liked without drowning it in butter which is something I don’t care to do with my food. I also had 2 small cupcakes, a can of soda, a tall glass of grape juice, a hamburger, a hot dog, and ear of corn on the cob, a glass of lemonade and a large piece of the apple pie I bought on Saturday morning. A walk around my parents’ five acres of land burned off some calories. I’m embarrassed to say I was vaguely winded by the time I got back. Talk about embarrassing!

My buddy and former co-worker from work asked if he could bring some friends over to my parents’ place to investigate the ghostly happenings there. His friends have expensive equipment to use in detection of anomalies. My parents agreed readily and we just have to set a date. My buddy had asked for sometime in November. I’m not aware of anything really noteworthy happening in the house since we had this guy over who was determined to cleanse the house before even setting foot in it. He walked around taking digital camera pictures. Two pictures of the back staircase were a former boy in the house had supposedly died looked like someone had thrown red paint all over the walls.

My mom mentioned my sister’s house because that has some events that have happened in it and I mentioned it to my buddy. I have yet to ask my sister about it but I’m sure she’ll probably agree to let my buddy in.

My buddy is into scientific research of ghosts and not religious. The two friends he mentioned are involved with TAPS, a local research group for paranormal stuff. This is the same group that has a show on the Sci-Fi network called Ghosthunters.

Nothing great for dreams lately just odd stuff. I was a young dude, maybe a teenager, while on an expedition into the wild looking for wild animals maybe even dinosaurs. The lands of the Earth still had vast regions unexplored although some of the equipment was quite modern.

Another dream this morning had me on a dock as a cashier at Toys R Us. A couple of my current co-workers were there like Pee Wee and Timmy and I think Jill. Essentially, there were cashier lanes built right on the dock. If you stepped out of the cashier area the wrong well you were taking a dive into the water!

The brother that lives with is kind of gross with towels. He reuses them to dry off after multiple showers. I don’t ask how many. I don’t care if my crack and groin are clean, one rub down with the towel and it’s done. New towel for next shower. When I do the dishes and he dries them off he’ll almost always use whatever hand towel is at hand. If it doesn’t stink it’s good to go. If he’s around I now ditch any old towels and pull out a new clean one to be used to dry the dishes before he even offers to help now.

I also get annoyed over where he puts dirty dishes. This isn’t a big problem just a head scratcher. I have a double sink or whatever you want to call two sinks side by side. The right one always has the dirty dish bucket thing and there is almost always some dirty dishes in it as they are in constant use. Anytime my brother makes a dirty dish it goes in the empty sink side. It’s like ‘hello! There’s a dirty dish side, thank you!’ It’s one of those things where if I have to explain it it makes my brother look really stupid because it’s so obvious so I don’t mention it. He should clean his coffee cup more too. I’ve seen ants crawling around inside it between uses. So my brother is a bit of a slob on the gross side. I too can be a pretty good slob with a decent chunk of clutter but I hate filth. To me there is a difference between having lots of magazines and bills and stuff hanging around and reusing towels and such.

3 pages is enough for today. I’m done.
