as usual, yet more 'stuff'

Dreary rainy days here the past few days. Haven't done a whole lot either. Wasted one whole day waiting for the telephone repairman to show. The only chance I missed was when I was taking a shower/in the bathroom for about 15 minutes. And that was roughly 40 minutes into the 8+ hour timeframe window the stupid automated system gave. And somehow, I doubt I missed him because it was about 8:40 in the morning when I showered and I have never, ever seen a tech on anything arrive that early.

I can't believe I couldn't find anything to spend my gift certificates on today. Vacuums were outrageously expensive usually seeming to START at $200. Okay, there was one about the size of a tea pot for around $100 oh nay-sayers.

I couldn't find a belgian waffle maker either! Couldn't believe I couldn't find one in my price range. I either had to get a big one at $40 or this other one at $75. I'm pissed all the $20 ones that make round waffles were totally sold out. Who'd a thunk it? Yeah, being a bit anal on this but I want a round waffle maker. When I first ordered a belgian waffle for the first time it was round so that's now my crazy standard.

Yep. I can be weird at times.

I got this friend - not a good friend - but a friend. Sometimes he's really decent but other times he's just a total bitch. I was saying to some other friends that this week and the week of Christmas I wasn't really looking to hard for a job because of the two weeks of the year it is: Christmas and New Year's. So mister bitch has to sit there and say 'I applied for a job'. Well, no shit Sherlock, there ARE jobs out there at this time but I did mention to him that there were only 1 and 1/2 pages of jobs compared to the usual 4 or 5 pages of jobs.

Then my other friend showed up and likes to get the bitch riled up. He started offering trades for one of my Heroclix figures - the one the bitch REALLY wants. This other guy started doing it just to rile the bitch up and it seems to have worked because the bitch went and got his Heroclix and started digging through them.

Of course, that's the bitch for you. Even after I told him I wasn't voting for his team in fantasy football he would still sqwauk about how I would never for him and always for for his opponent. LOL!

Planning on finally seeing Harry Potter 4 tomorrow at a matinee. Should be good because I'm hoping there will be 20 people or hopefully a whole lot less in the theater. It makes it almost seem like I'm getting a private showing or something.

With Christmas over the house should be getting a little more organized. I expect to put the 27" screen TV sitting on my kitchen table (screen facing the wall because it's not plugged in) into the living room where the Christmas tree current resides. And then throwing some speakers up on to the rafters - I have sort of Catherdral ceilings with exposed beams.

Finished The Last Battle. It's the last of the Chronicles of Narnia. I know I was suppose to feel good about the ending but it was kind of a downer for me. I won't post spoilers though, you'll have to read it for yourself.

Over and out.

after Christmas things

So, Christmas was awesome. I got a lot of cool gifts and also $70 in gift certificates so I can get what I didn't get! Buying house stuff mainly - I'm thinking an iron skillet, soap dish, toothbrush holder, maybe two packs of Heroclix and then I don't know.

Not sure what I did with my budget but I did SOMETHING apparently in a good way. I have Feburary's mortgage already to be paid and then $300 left over to pay bills. And since I saved up all my Christmas money before Christmas, I have no bills from that because I bought everything in cash. So I'm thinking I can put about $150 to $200 on my credit card to get rid of the motherboard I bought when I had to replace my fried one. So I think my credit card may be $400 or less, maybe even as low as $300, when I get done with my next payment.

I ended up winning my fantasy football league. It was a total slugfest between my friend Dwain and I. The project stats were 109.09 to 109.07 in favor of me. We both ended scoring over 143 points which is huge points for our league. The scoring was crazy! Several of our players had HUGE games as far as fantasy football goes. I think I won by 3 points or so. That's a pretty close game. It was a lot of fun but high blood pressure inducing. It seemed every football highlight on TV was one of our guys and the lead flip-flopped the whole weekend. It's the second straight year I've won the league. And I'm the only winner of our league since it's only been in existence for two years.

I got a new story idea for the comic. It's always so cool to come up with stories.

Played more D&D today. My character almost croaked but I survived. Another party member was not so lucky.

Being reading for about an hour when I go to bed lately. I read The Voyage of the Dawn Treader. It's part of the Chronicles of Naria, The Lion, the Witch, and the Warbrobe being the most popular. It was decent. Now I'm working on The Last Battle of the same series. I had started reading it long ago I think as a middle school student but never finished it. Been on a Narnia kick since seeing the recent movie. I think I'll be Narnia'd out after this story though. But we'll see. I received the book of all the stories unabriged as a gift for Christmas back in 2003.

So now comes the business of winter. At Christmas time, it's all about Christmas. Now it's time for projects and in-door things. I rather like this time of year because most of my hobbies are in-doors. It always seems like I'm missing something when I'm drawing on a beautiful summer's day. But on a cold winter day, it just feels so right.

I got a webcam from one of my brother's so I expect to post a bunch of pictures on my MySpace.com log. I post pic's there and do all of my writing here.

I'm watching Monday Night Football as I write this - Patriots vs Jets (I'm a Patriots fan since 1985). I am SO SICK of them tooting their own horn. I realize it's their 25th anniversary or something but do I really need to hear during every game a promo about how MNF changed America? Yeesh. You'd think that these guys created AMerica or something. And I'm a HUGE football fan.

Anyways, my Christmas was totally awesome - no fights, nothing overly stupid happened, just almost 100% fun and joy. The only lame thing that happened was my brother's daughter refusing to even come to the door to see him on Christmas and refusing his gifts. Man, the ex is a dirty fucker. She's convinced that kid that a loving father that spent quality time with her is now the scum of the earth. My niece will probably never trust men when she grows up and it'll be her mother's fault.

I get by with a little help from my friends

Geekfest!

This past weekend was total geekfest time. It started on Friday night when I called my friend at the comic store to see what was going on. One clix player was there so we set up a game. Well, another walked in and another called in so we ended up playing this 5 player, big point (1500) game. I quit at 2am because I needed sleep because...

I got up at 8am Saturday and grabbed my gear to spend the day playing D&D in CT. Not a bad time at all. Got to see some friends I hadn't seen in quite awhile which was enjoyable. My buddy's character croaked so I don't think he was too happy with that! Especially since it was my understnading the same character croaked 2 weeks before! LOL!

Got home around 1am or so and checked on my football stats. Not a bad day but apprehensive about my opponents in fantasy football. Got to sleep around 2am or a little after.

Sunday! Went back down to CT (an hour's drive) to play 8 more hours of D&D! Yeesh! Saw more friends that hadn't been there the day before so that was cool. The goofy part is, they live about 20 minutes away! Played more D&D and had a good time.

The best was finding out that I'm leading my opponent in Fantasy Football by a healthy margin! So unless this one player scores 3 TDs in Dec 19's Monday Night Football, I should make it into my league's Super Bowl for a second straight year! For some reason, this has me HIGHLY excited. I want to repeat as champion too. I want to be able to say 'Dynasty' when it comes to the league! LOL!

So that was the weekend. And I enjoyed it emensely.

The house is slowly getting less and less cluttered. Selling off some of my comics would help the situation. I have something like 9 'long' boxes of comics. Each box holds about 450 to 500 comics. Most of them suck. LOL! And I could easily live without about half of the collection. I would hate to get rid of my Uncanny X-Men though or comics drawn by Alan Davis.

Finishing up Christmas shopping should be no big deal this week. I think my total bill ends up between $450 to $600. I saved up during Spet/Oct/Nov so I have all the money ready to be spent. My new computer and carpetting on the other hand,...

That's all for now, folks!

Yowza!

It's been a long time since I updated things so here goes some stuff:

Bought replacements parts for my computer. I bought all the same stuff again just new parts. Had to go with a motherboard and processor, a new power supply, and a new graphics card. I didn't buy a new sound card, have to replace my 1 GIG of RAM or get a new tower.

With my own computer working again I can now get back to work on the Necropolis Chronicles. I finished up grayscaling p11 of issue 2 yesterday and I think it looks pretty good.

Issue 1 finally got printed! I only got 50 copies so I could send some out to friends. I plan to combine issue 1 & 2 into a sort of graphic novel. I found this girl in France via DeviantArt to do the cover. I LOVE her stuff and am really excited about it. Oh yeah, about 20 of the 50 copies were damaged. :( I should be getting replacement copies from Comixpress. They've been polite and the quality of the comic looks terrific but otherwise my experience with them has been horrific. It took 6 months for my book to get printed. Then the copies were damaged. And I don't see my book anywhere on their website to be purchased. But in all fairness, I seem to be one of very few to have had a bad experience with them.

My brother with all the custody woes moved in with me. It's nice having him around the house. And there are zero problems which is awesome. Having his son/my nephew around adds so youthful exuberance to the house making things more lively and fun. But his daughter still buys into the crap her mother is feeding her: 'your father treats you like shit, he's a piece of shit, etc. When the judge heard this crap in the latest court fight he stopped her and her lawyer and told them to go to litigation to solve the problems. So anyways, the family hasn't seen my niece because she won't have anything to do with her father. And unfortuantely, my brother said his ex would tell my niece to 'shut the fuck up' in therapy IN FRONT OF THE THERAPIST!

In the what should hopefully be good news department - the carpetters are schedule to install my bedroom wall to wall carpetting tomorrow! (the 15th). It seems like I've been waiting for this FOREVER! I can't wait to finally put my bed up and have my bedroom become something more than a room holding my dresser and hamper! I can also shuffle and empty many of the remaining boxes of mine in the house and make it more of a home! I'm getting sick of having 8 long boxes of comics in my living room and other boxes lining the walls.

Unfortunately, my mom had to cancel her annual Christmas party because my brother that I bought the house from still hasn't finished unpacking his stuff back at my parents's place. She doesn't let it on to much but I think it really bothers her. She usually has a crowd of up to 40 people show up and some of the attendees only make it up to the house once or twice a year. I suggested she try for a party in the middle of Feburary. Hopefully by then, all of my brother's crap can/would be moved to someplace other than the dining room. He seems to have started a renewed interest in getting it done since he was told point blank that the Christmas party was cancelled because of his stuff being everywhere in the house.

Okay, I'm sick of writing now.

The End.
