3rd entry

So! What's new for Jaina this week? Well, absolutely nothing!

Yeah, bummer, I know. Actually, the art production is moving along nicely and I like what I've seen of it.

The first error of the book? Well, it seems Comixpress does 24 page books including the covers. So! The brilliant genius that I am I wrote a 22 page story! Hmmn, now that I think of it I skipped a page in the book. Jenn caught it really. So I feel kinda stupid. But! I was able to add in something that may be cool. I was able to tap into Sara and Tori's skills to add an extra voice to Jaina in the form of poetry.

So thinking my problem solved I realized I didn't just want to throw the poems on the page with nothing to explain what's going on. Hmmn,...what to do, what to do? Aha! Jaina has a 'blog'. Feeling quite proud I sat back and smiled in my perfection. Then I realized I had to layout the blog page! Somehow I always seem to make more work for myself! LOL. Wait, why am I laughing at that?

So anyways, I solved the problem of the missing page from the 22 page script. But now I have to solve the extra 2 pages with out making it look like filler. And I don't want it to be filler either because that just sucks. I'll come up with something. I seem to work better with a little pressure on me anyways.

So there you have it, James 'the Genius' can really be James 'the idiotic fool'.

And with that, I hope you have a good day.

The 2nd entry

So, what's in-store for Jaina?

There's a comic con in New York, Big Apple I think it's called. I hope to shop the comic around there for a publisher to pick-up. Eric Larsen is scheduled to be there so he's my main target. The con is April 2nd and 3rd.

The second issue is fully sketched out and the detailed pencils are well under way. Issue 1 is over 90% complete. I played hooky last weekend by going to Conncon so I didn't finish the book yet. The inside front cover needs a little work and the poem page needs to be done. I should be able to finish the first issue entirely tomorrow.

Not sure how big they'll go over but I'll probably have a few coffee mugs made up with either the Necropolis Chronicles logo and some with pic's of Jaina and crew. My brother has a decent little side business of making specialty coffee mugs so I can get a good deal from him.

I should be able to upload some pics of Jaina and crew to make the blog a little more interesting visually. I finally got a modem so I'll be able to upload to my AOL space and link them to here. Currently, I use AOL remotely and can't access the uploading space even though I have a cable modem.

That's it for now,
Jim (Jaina creator)

The first post

Hello readers and those just passing by!

Here resides things about The Necropolis Chronicles the comic book I created.

Okay, so what the heck is The Necropolis Chronicles? It's an (hopefully) on-going series of comic books focusing on life in a private school for teenagers. The main protagonist is named Jaina (pronounced Jay-na). She's a spunky kid who's life is somewhat of a mystery. She's not sure how she arrived at the school except that she was picked in a out reach program. Considering she's a goth-girl thrown headlong into a private educational institution complete with suit tops and plaid skirts, it's an uncanny match. But there's so much more that Jaina doesn't realize it. There is a reason she is there and it is no accident. And others are aware of her special talent even if she is not.

Interested? Hopefully. I'll make sure to post when the book becomes avaliable for purchase.

That's all for now!
